PR Log (Press Release) –
Oct 27, 2009 – Japan’s bloody secret exposed
The Cove comes to UK cinemas tomorrow. We urge you to go to see it and to take your friends.
The Cove is the shocking story that Japan does not want the world to hear. Shot at great risk to the filmmakers in a small town called Taiji, the Cove exposes the terrible bloodbath that is its dolphin drive hunt.
In these hunts, dolphins are corralled into small coves where most are brutally slaughtered. A small number of terrified live dolphins are then picked off and sold, for large amounts of money, to marine parks and aquariums.
Thousands of dolphins are killed in this way every year.
WDCS has been actively campaigning to stop this cruel and bloody hunt for a number of years and we urge you to support our campaign and go to see the film and help raise awareness of this hidden atrocity.
The film is shocking, disturbing and very upsetting but the world deserves to know the truth and the dolphins deserve a life free from this terrible threat.
