Oct. 19, 2009 - PRLog -- Ellettsville, IN-House of Prayer (HOPE), a nondenominational church located in Ellettsville, IN is holding their tenth annual drama presentation called “HELL HOUSE”.  The drama is a portrayal of what one might expect to find on a tour of hell.  Demon tour guides escort visitors through a tour of real life scenes depicting such issues as spousal abuse, drug abuse and other issues that threaten and destroy people in our society.  The scenes depicted are of mature theme and very graphic. Absolutely no one under 11 years of age will be admitted.
HOPE began presenting the drama 10 years ago as a way for people to examine their lives and offer a Christian message in a format that would not only shock participants, but cause them to evaluate the direction of not only themselves, but the society in which we live.
A long time church member and volunteer at Hell House, Linda Webb answered the question of “Why do you present the “HELL HOUSE” drama at Halloween?” with this, “It is an alternative to Halloween (which was established as a celebration of witchcraft, etc) and gives six or seven scenes depicting areas of life that satan tries to manipulate.”  The drama tries to make people become aware of these and evaluate the influence of them in their own lives..
The church has had a great deal of success helping visitors who attend the Halloween drama, give their lives new or more focused direction.  Many visitors reach the end of the drama (which is a guided tour through hell) and fall to their knees in prayer.
The 2009 “HELL HOUSE” will be presented on October 23rd through October 25th and again October 30th through November 1st.   The doors open at 6:00 pm each evening and guided tours begin at 7:00 pm.  Admission charge is $5.00 per person and reservations are recommended. Large groups can be accommodated.  Contact HOPE directly at 812-876-9002 for further information or to make a reservation.
House of Prayer Ellettsville was established in 1983 by Pastor Larry Mitchell.  The church is unique in its approach to worship and has attendees from all walks of life.  They practice an acceptance of everyone regardless of previous history or current social status.  A “Come as you are” philosophy is practiced as a mirror to the manner in which Jesus Christ conducted his ministry.  House of Prayer takes their message to the street and into prisons and jails through the Un-chained Gang Motorcycle Ministry, reaching those in need of a different lifestyle and means of survival.
The public is invited to attend the “HELL HOUSE” presentation and also to HOPE services.  HOPE has worship services each Wednesday at 7:00pm and Sundays at 10:00am. The church is located in Ellettsville, IN; a small town west of Bloomington, IN (south of Indianapolis, IN).
