FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Oct 19, 2009 – Integrity, Experience and Innovation

Isle of Man based recruitment company Search and Select has seen the egaming sector grow from conception to where it is now. We talk to Mark Burman from the company about setting up egamingjobs.com, a website dedicated to recruitment in the industry

“The egaming Industry has grown significantly over the last five years and is now a major industry on the Isle of Man,” said Mark Burman, recruitment consultant for egamingjobs. Burman joined Search and Select, a long established executive, general and temporary recruitment specialist, in 2006 and was assigned the task of researching the online gaming sector, its clients and the companies that are based on the Isle of Man.

“Results showed that the industry was set to grow on the Island but there was not a need for a specialist online recruitment site based on the Isle of Man until the sector became more established. Also, the personnel that these companies required was more finance specific rather than gaming based,” said Burman.

In January, the company’s representatives attended IGE in London to conduct further research and cement the opinion that there was now a need for an online gaming specific website. The company had IT experts start developing the site formally earlier this year and it went live in August.
Search and Select developed the egamingjobs website to assist the gaming industry in recruiting local and worldwide online gaming specific candidates by using the latest technology. It is now the only online gaming specific recruitment site of its kind based in the Isle of man, a highly rated jurisdiction. “The power of the internet as a marketing tool and as a networking tool has never been so strong, which is why egamingjobs has a Facebook page, a Twitter page and a Youtube page,” said Burman.

The more in-depth information is held within the egamingjobs website, and is only accessible to those registered. Live chat is available through the site prior to login, so if people have a particular query that they wish to obtain a prompt response on, they can click on the link and will be directed straight to a member of the egamingjobs team. “The purpose of the website is to attract professionals with relevant experience in the online gaming industry. We also acknowledge the need for further expert knowledge throughout the gaming jurisdictions and hope that this problem can be helped by attracting people that can be trained in the industry,” said Burman.

Another key point for egamingjobs is communication. And enabling various means of communication through networking sites, live chat, skype and MSN allows the company to keep in constant contact with its clients and candidates. “We like to work closely with our candidates and clients and the only way to do this is by finding out as much information about their requirements as possible.”

Search and Select has assisted several of the major gaming companies establish on the Isle of Man by way of understanding their business, immediate and future business plans and then finding them their key staff.

“The development of the website is seen as a natural development to further assisting the industry in its recruitment,” said Burman.

Assisting with all elements of primary start-up recruitment to expansion and development, Search and Select has been instrumental in the growth of the egaming industry on the Isle of Man, helping gaming companies establish their island presence. The company has also dealt with clients and candidates in multiple jurisdictions, a list that is growing on a weekly basis.

“As we are based on the Isle of Man, we see our initial aim to assist the growing number of new and existing egaming companies on the Island. At the same time, as egaming companies operate in several jurisdictions we expect to assist them in matching staff wherever they are based,” said Burman.

The recruitment website acts to draw on the multi-jurisdictional market to not only encourage and develop egaming on the Isle of Man, but to pull exceptional gaming candidates from around the globe and satisfy all recruitment needs for clients and candidates on both home turf and the wider global arena.

Research in the industry suggests that there is great movement within certain jurisdictions at present, as well as a shortage of particular skills in other jurisdictions “The egaming job market is looking strong at present but there are not enough of the right candidates for the clients to expand their business,” Burman told iNTERGAMINGi.

The company’s high standards don’t end with its candidates, they also reflect in its plans for the future. “We want to be recognised globally as the agency of choice for clients and candidates alike in the online gaming sector.”
