Web50.ca Showcases Canada's Top 50 Website Designs

PR Log (Press Release) – Oct 18, 2009 – Toronto - There's a new spot in town to find web design inspiration and education. Web50.ca, Canada's newest gallery of great website design, features the Top 50 Canadian website designs.

Web50.ca is targeting creative and marketing types, senior managers looking at online trends, students looking for professional tips, journalists keeping their fingers on the pulse of the web - and anyone else who appreciates good design – whether for business, or for pleasure.

"A while back we were looking for examples of good website design. And as much as there are plenty of good examples out there, there wasn’t a good repository of it anywhere," say the founders. "So we started Web50.ca with that in mind. An ever-expanding archive of great design."

Visitors can also comment on and vote for their favourite designs. Featured websites include Roots, Tragically Hip, Yorkdale Shopping Centre, Now Magazine, Toronto FC, Cirque Du Soleil, and more.

Web50.ca (http://web50.ca) features a variety of industries – from sports to healthcare to tourism to retail. Selected websites have the following in common:
- Must have been created for a Canadian company, or be designed by a Canadian firm/designer
- Have great curb appeal – that is, they’re attractive as soon as you reach the homepage
- Are organized and easy-to-navigate
- Deliver on their goals (a news site gives quick, valuable news; a band site rewards their fans with photos, stories, etc.)
- Provide high value for time spent

Another valuable feature of the website is a business directory featuring Canadian design and marketing companies, searchable by category.
