One company that has placed total belief in the ecommerce business model is Terrys Fabrics, one of the prominent retailers of blinds and other soft home furnishings. By declaring that they would be bringing to the fore three more websites to help build a sub brand and further boost the existing website sales, they have demonstrated this belief.
Three products, namely curtains, blinds and curtain posts, are the focus of these websites for the near term. The company will continue to pursue bringing in more sites as a long term strategy to aid the currently successful site in pushing sales.
This initiative has been in the planning stage for some time, and has borne fruition with the launch of the first site this October, with the remaining two sites to be launched thereafter. They will help to fully reap the benefits of the Christmas season when a lot of shopping is done online by home owners.
Despite their launch this Christmas, these sites, according to the company, will only bring in the profits next Christmas as the market would take this time to assimilate their presence in the web space.
