PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 18, 2009 -
Leading telecom executives, bankers and professional advisers from across the world are gathering in Singapore on November 5-6 to debate strategy, financing and merger and acquisition opportunities at the TMT Finance & Investment Asia forum (www.tmtfinance.com/asia).

Supported by the Economic Development Board of Singapore, the event facilitates financing and business activity in the telecom sector locally and internationally.
The international forum, which has a highly successful history in London, Dubai and Doha, will provide a timely boost to Singapore’s status as a major global telecommunications hub, and financial centre just as the wider economy is regaining confidence.

Key sessions include: “Investment opportunities in Next Generation Networks”, which will highlight Singapore’s world leading position in the roll out of ultra-high speed broadband through the Next Generation NBN. David Storrie, CEO of Nucleus Connect, the StarHub subsidiary in charge of Singapore's Next-Gen NGN, will feature on the panel along with leaders from the IDA and OpenNet. Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH), IPTV applications, retail service providers and infrastructure opportunities will be highlighted.

Other highlights of the conference include: The Telecom Leadership Round Table; The Raising Finance Panel - Equity and Debt Capital Markets; The M&A Advisers Panel; Infrastructure Asia – the Flight to Global IP Networks; Mobilising Content; Mobile Banking; Telecoms and the Cloud and Wireless Asia – From 3G to WiMAX.

Reflecting the investment drive by major telecommunication operators in the region, the chief focus will be on high growth opportunities in mature and emerging markets.

“There are outstanding growth opportunities across Asia for telecom operators , technology providers, advisers and investors, and it is no surprise that so many want to come to Singapore,” said Dominic Lowndes, managing director of the TMT Group at BroadGroup which is organising the conference. “Transaction led strategies will be crucial over the next twelve months, as new technologies and the reopening of equity and debt capital markets fuel a surge in deal flow and consolidation.”

TMT Finance and Investment Asia 2009 is organised by the TMT Group of BroadGroup. Tata Communications, Axiata Group and Clifford Chance LLP are Gold Sponsors, Booz&Co is Conference Partner, KPMG is hosting the NBN session, Milbank and Moody’s are bronze sponsors.
