Baltimore Ravens star middle linebacker Ray Lewis was fined $25,000 yesterday for a pair of separate infractions headlined by his crushing helmet-to-helmet shot that gave Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco a black eye. Lewis is planning to appeal the fine, and Ochocinco had used his Twitter account to lobby NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to not levy a fine against his friend. Lewis had zero interest in discussing the punishment from the league office. "I'm on to Minnesota, man," Lewis said following practice. "I'm not talking about no fine. For what? I'm good, bro." Lewis was penalized 15 yards for unnecessary roughness for his big hit on Ochocinco, which aided the Bengals' cause during their game-winning touchdown drive in the final minute.
