A Book Signing That Involved Thinking Outside The Shoebox

Shoebox NY hosted a fashionable book signing for "How To Stylishly Fall From Grace" by Shoe Blogger Felicia Coley, in support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Oct. 17, 2009 - PRLog -- New York, NY - With a beautiful backdrop of suede booties, buckled shoes and towering stilettos, the book signing for "How To Stylishly Fall From Grace" by Shoe Blogger Felicia Coley - held October 14th at Shoebox NY (UES) - was a night to remember. From fellow bloggers to real estate agents (and an appearance by R&B/Pop Star Mayra), shoe enthusiasts enjoyed wine and cupcakes while receiving 10% off shoe purchases for the night. Aside from being a stylish night, it was a worthy cause; a percentage of every book sold will benefit UNIFEM's Say NO To Violence Against Women Campaign: http://www.unifem.org/vaw.
.
Book customers of  "How To Stylishly Fall From Grace" also received the added surprise of a Stiletto Lover's Survival Kit with their signed copies, which consisted of gifts from the following sponsors: an edible, pink glitter stiletto from Whatacookie!, ShoeStories by Claudia Lynch, Wild Woozle, Shuella, Foot Petals, Solemates, Heelskinz, YogaToes, Pedisavers, Catwalk Confidence, Shoebby, shuzsociety and MUAH! Magazine.

“Since my blog's readership consists of the quintessential shoe lover,” says Coley, “I felt there was no better place than New York City to start the trend of my book signings in high-end shoe boutiques.”

The other trend Coley has started is the "BCPP" -  Book Club Pedi Party, combining a two-for-one Girl's Night In.  Book customers are encouraged to host a BCPP, and then submit photos showing their creative themes.   “There is one being organized in Atlanta right now,” Coley confirms.

Coley's outfit for the evening consisted of Stuart Weitzman's Hiho thigh high boots from http://www.shoptheshoebox.com, and Stylists Erica & David of LP Fashion Philosophy styled her in a minidress of purple black silk and velvet by Kahri by Kharianne Kerr and Farrah by Elizabethan earrings. The purple hues represented Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Makeup was done by Artist Nyree, and hair styling was done by Demetris Potamianos.
