Oct. 17, 2009 - PRLog -- The NC Ellis Cannady Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors is pleased to announce the Continuing Education Workshops and Annual Meeting will be held on November 8-10, 2009 at the North Raleigh Hilton, Raleigh, NC.

The Continuing Education workshops are developed to learn about the changes and troubling areas in the 2008 National Electrical Code and to address specific areas with code interpretations and practical application for the inspector, contractor and installer. Specific topics to be covered are Residential Wiring Applications; Swimming Pools, Hot Tubs & Similar Installations; Hazardous Locations and Photovoltaic Installations.

The 2-day Continuing Education workshops are approved for eight (8) hours of continuing education by the NC State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors and twelve (12) hours the NC Code Officials Qualifications Board.

We have superior instructors teaching our continuing education workshops.  Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the instructors and other attendees.  Also, exhibitors will be on hand to share their knowledge about new industry products and services. A Great way to learn! Don’t miss it! - Robbie Brooks, President, NC Ellis Cannady Chapter, IAEI.

The NC Chapter is also involved in a national education program for schoolchildren called “I Am Safety Smart”, where IAEI members educate our next generation about electrical safety. The first session in the Southeast was conducted in the Raleigh area. This program gives electrical industry members a chance to give back to the community, and give kids the opportunity to consider a career in electrical safety. Go to the NC IAEI website for more information: www.nciaei.org.

NC IAEI members include electrical and building inspectors, electrical contractors, engineers, utility engineers, testing laboratory inspectors and technicians, electrical equipment and component manufacturing specialists and more. The NC IAEI regularly submits code change proposals, and is one of the most active chapters in the Southeast. Many proposals from the NC Chapter end up becoming NEC Code.

For meeting information and forms, go to http://www.nciaei.org. For more information and to contact our President and Board of Directors, go to our “Officers” page, and the “Contact us” page.
