SEATTLE, Washington - The website GameWait.com has become the first casual game news site to focus on release date news for the ever-growing casual game industry. Launched earlier this month, the site keeps up-to-date lists on upcoming casual games and their announced or suspected release dates. The lists are arranged by platform and include PC, Mac, console, and mobile casual games.
GameWait.com also fosters its casual games community by giving users "GameWait Points" for using the site. Users earn points when they participate in the GameWait forums, comment on news stories, vote in polls, and rank their excitement for upcoming games by using the GameWait "Excito-meter"
"It seems that most casual games just appear out of thin air on the portals with very little buzz leading up to their release," says Matt Sayre, creator of GameWait.com. "Hardcore games, movies, and even books get a marketing whirlwind going on before their products are released. But for some reason, even some of the biggest IP casual games just show up one day, usually on a single portal, with maybe a few days' worth of minimal marketing beforehand."
He adds, "With GameWait.com, we hope to increase the buzz factor for casual games by making a site focusing on news of their development and expected release times. We think there's a huge audience out there who would like to hear about it... even if they don't know it yet."
GameWait.com is free to join and use. The site can be found at: http://gamewait.com
