Biker Community Raises Over $4k For Hungry Kids Via Bike Night At Harley-Davidson of Fort Myers

Harley-Davidson/Buell of Fort Myers recently hosted the first of their newly launched bi-monthly bike nights and live concerts. Aimed at raising money for the non-profit, Blessings in a Backpack, the bike nights will alternate between the Fort Myers and Naples Harley-Davidson/Buell locations.

From 6:00 until 10:00 p.m. roughly 1,000 guests visited the dealership enjoying refreshments and live entertainment. Via collaboration with the local H.O.G. chapter who coordinated the event’s water, beer and soda stations as well as a variety of food stations, the event raised $4,200.

Scott Fischer, owner of Scott Fischer Enterprises and both dealerships, is a founding board member for the Blessings in a Backpack local efforts. He initiated the bike night and concert series as a way to get back to the basics of bike nights, creating a quality event for the Southwest Florida riding community and to raise money for the organization.

“The turnout for our first bike night was incredible,” commented Fischer. “We’re so excited by the money we raised because it means another 52 children are sponsored for next year.”

Blessings in a Backpack is a program designed to feed elementary school children who qualify for the federal free and reduced meal program and may not have any or enough food on the weekends.
