To mark the news, a special launch event was held featuring Jan Molby, which saw a select few reminisce about the club’s triumphs and to witness the special goal he scored in 1985 against Manchester United.
The new initiative to an extent follows on from the success of the now global touring ex-professional Liverpool squad taking in 80s and 90s greats like Jan Molby, Phil Neal, John Aldridge, Alan Kennedy, David Johnson and David Fairclough.
As Tom Cassidy, LFC Commercial Tourism Marketing Manager explained, the venture is also a result of the fact that the club has invested significantly in recent months to boost resources in driving forward its tourism strategy for the 09/10 season.
He said: “It’s going to be a very exciting season both on and off the field for LFC. Our newly expanded tourism team is already focusing much attention on these nights that will enable fans to enjoy more unique visitor experiences to Anfield.
“Players and former managers are really keen to share many of the special moments of their LFC career with the fans and dinner in the museum will ensure guests on these new nights will have a great spectacle of all round entertainment.”
The ‘Night in the Museum’ events offer the chance to meet select Liverpool FC Legends, a luxurious three course meal served by LFC’s award winning chefs, drinks on arrival, the opportunity for guests to have their photograph taken with one of the trophies on display plus other quality entertainment. Tickets for the very limited event are priced at £145 per person or £1350 for a table of ten.
