Papervision3D Essentials

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Oct 16, 2009 – Packt is pleased to announce  Papervision3D Essentials, a new book that helps developers build stunning, interactive Papervision3D applications and make it work in Flash and Flex Builder. Written by Flash developers Paul Tondeur and Jeff Winder, this book will provide readers in-depth knowledge of 3D concepts with demo applications, screenshots and example codes.

Papervision3D is a powerful real-time 3D engine for Flash and is released as Open Source software. Papervision3D can take externally created 3D models and render them as Flash content, without requiring end-users to download or install an additional plug-in.

With this book, developers will learn to download, install and configure tools for creating Papervision3D applications, and make these applications work in Flash and Flex Builder. They will also learn to use 3D objects as the building blocks for a basic application. Readers will be able to differentiate between the available material types from simple images to movie clips and streaming video.

Readers will learn how to work with built-in 3Dimentional objects, use and animate cameras, and create outstanding effects by implementing different camera types and tricks. By creating interactive 3D text, 3D vector shapes, and particles they will be able to enhance their applications. Readers will also discover the workflow of exporting models from Autodesk 3Ds Max, SketchUp, and Blender into Papervision3D with this book.

Flash and 3D developers who wish to get started with Papervision3D will find this book useful. This book is out now and available from Packt. You can read more about this book here: http://www.packtpub.com/papervision3d-essentials/book
