R&B/ Pop singer Mayra at book signing/domestic Violence Awareness event
Shoe Box NY on 77th Street and 3rd avenue, was host to an event which could only be described as Shoelicious. Shoe blogger turned author Felicia Coley Chose Shoe Box NY as the location of her latest books signing, due to the fact that “Zoe” the main character of the novel “How to Stylishly Fall From Grace” is a rabid shoe aficionado and enthusiast. The event, like all of Ms Coley’s Book signings, is also to promote Domestic Violence Awareness.
“There is a mantra that I constantly use, --Because ‘shoes to die for’ should never be part of a woman’s epitaph. --.” The author and “The Well-Heeled society” creator said. “The rate of domestic violence cases has risen at an alarming rate. A percentage of the proceeds of this book will benefit UNIFEM's Say NO To Violence Against Women Campaign.”
Woman from all over came out to support the author and UNIFEM including R&B/ Pop singer Mayra, who wore the most adorable shoes by designer Madison Avenue Boutique. Mayra said that she believed in the cause and was also looking forward to reading the book. Also there was internet personality Nando of Nandoism.com, who was fresh off the red carpet the night before, with celebrities such as Jessica Simpson. Nando stated that he couldn’t miss supporting a fellow blogger and friend.
If wine, cupcakes, sold books, money raised for charity, and all having a good time equals a successful evening, then the evening was a complete success beyond Felicia’s imagination.
