No stranger to performing, ZuQuan has collaborated with musicians such as RUN-DMC, Eddie F. Knight, Phil Hamilton (guitarist), and Gordon Chambers. Industry producers like Polo da Don, Jermaine Dupri, Pharell, Kanye West, and DarkChild all drop seeds of illumination into ZuQuan’s style. ZuQuan admires Jay-Z, Trey Songz, Citizen Cope, Maxwell, Bilal, The Dream, Ryan Leslie and gave each ample memory in his iPod to draw inspiration.
Under lessons learned, Zuquan remembers an early taste of fame while touring with RUN-DMC. ZuQuan was entrusted with the keys of the group’s limo. After the show, ZuQuan was digging the attention of fans and temporarily forgot he held the keys to the limo which kept RUN-DMC from leaving the venue. The long, uncomfortable ride home gave ZuQuan plenty of time to think.
Fans that want to get to know ZuQuan better – take note of his favorite things: Grilled Asparagus, his first car, a Toyota 4Runner, vacations in Upstate, NY surrounded by mountains, loves watching Man Vs. Food, grooves on the color, wine red, kicks back listening to “Human Nature,” and digs the acoustic guitar. A Maxwell concert featuring Jazmine Sullivan as the opening act was a 5-Star performance in ZuQuan’s book.
