Indie Crime/Thriller Film “Onyx, The Mask Teacher” Calls For Cast And Crew

Oct. 15, 2009 - PRLog -- –  Los Angeles, CA -- Cast and crews are being sought for the production of  “Onyx, The Mask Teacher”, an independent crime/thriller to begin filming in March 2010 in Los Angeles and surrounding areas.  The film is about Onyx, a rouge teacher with super hero and vigilante tendencies.  Onyx fights against illiteracy, hate, and injustice.  Though his instruction may be illegal, his intent is admirable.  

The film will be produced by BE Original Films, LLC, a film developing and production company, operating in Corona, California.  Rick Brandon and Vivian Brandon will produce.  While first time feature film director Courtney Brandon will direct.  

Murphy:  A 32 year-old, good-looking, dark-skinned, African-American woman.  She is an ex-school teacher turn detective for the Crenshaw Police Department.  Murphy turned ex-school teacher when she slapped a problem student across the face.  This is something she truly regrets.  She’s street savvy, a good investigator, and a good shot.  She has been given the honor of being the lead detective on the Onyx kidnapping cases.  She has not had a partner for months.  The partner she gets, she doesn’t like.  Lead

Lynch:  25-28; is a cocky pale white boy, about 5’7”- 5’10” with a chip on his shoulder.  More so, he’s a redneck.  He has a strong dislike for minorities and black people and black officers.  The black officers can’t stand him.  He is under investigation for beating up a young black teenager.  That earned him the name “PC”, prejudice cop.  Now, he’s Murphy’s partner on the Onyx kidnappings.  What he doesn’t know is that Murphy is his last hope.  If he doesn’t make it work with Murphy, he’s off the force.  Lead

Onyx:  30-35; 6’0 tall, a self righteous African-American brother.  He is an ex-teacher who was fired for assaulting a male black student.  Now, Onyx is a rouge teacher with super hero and vigilante tendencies.  He wears all black and kidnaps young drug dealers under the cloak of night.  He uses tough love to make troubled students learn.  Though his instruction may be illegal, his intent is admirable.  Lead
