Holiday makers arriving home towards the end of September and early part of October 2009 from the Gran Caribe Club Cojimar and Sol Cayo Guillermo hotels in Cuba are contacting Holiday Claims Solicitors Simpson Millar upset and angry that their holidays have been ruined and complaining of food poisoning at both Hotels.
Confirmed cases of salmonella amongst the all-inclusive hotels’ guests have been reported at the Sol Cayo indicating food poisoning as the probable cause of sickness. With symptoms ranging from violent diarrhoea to projectile vomiting food hygiene standards are being questioned.
Nick Harris, Head of Travel Law at Simpson Millar Solicitors said: "We are speaking to an increasing number of the hotels’ guests who have described aspects of food hygiene and preparation in particular that are unacceptable and very concerning. I would ask anyone who has been affected by illness at these hotels to contact me."
"If the sickness outbreaks have been caused by poor hygiene or food poisoning I will be addressing this with the tour operators concerned and ensuring my clients receive substantial compensation."
The Gran Caribe Club Cojimar and Sol Cayo Guillermo hotels are both located in the resort of Cayo Guilermo.. The Gran Caribe Club Cojimar has 212 rooms and the Sol Cayo Guillermo has 264 rooms.
