Artist Eva Bartussek and film maker Jeanie Finlay will be in conversation on Friday 16 October at 1pm to discuss Bartussek’s recent exhibition Horse House followed by a screening of Finlay’s acclaimed film Goth Cruise.
Horse House is the documentation of a rare and intriguing situation, a local mansion house that was for some time both a house and a stable. Whilst the work is certainly of a real life experience, its subject matter appears dreamlike and surreal. The exhibition continues until 29 November.
Following the discussion will be a free screening of Jeanie Finlay’s fascinating, candid documentary Goth Cruise. The film records the annual summer holiday escape for over 150 American Goths, who set sail for the blazing sunshine each year for a seven day adventure across the Caribbean seas.
Goth Cruise is an open and often hilarious portrayal of this extraordinary event and reveals just what it means to be a Goth.
Free event. Everyone welcome.
