During 1991-1993, O’Brien was associated with the hugely popular television series The Simpsons. This had come as a savior to him and gave his career a much needed boost. He was a writer as well a producer for the show. He wrote and co-wrote many episodes for the show and produced several episodes during seasons 4 and 5.
From there his next big stopover came when he succeeded David Letterman as the new host on Late Night with Conan O’Brien in September 1993. With some not so popular initial years, O’Brien went on to become a successful host with wide fan following among the high school and college students. He concluded his relationship with the show with the February 20, 2009 being his last episode.
But his biggest claim to fame has been first the announcement and then his eventual hosting of The Tonight Show starting June 01, 2009. He made quite an impressive start with the first show which features Will Farrell and Pearl Jam.
