MILTON FIRMAN is leading the assault upon Customs to ensure a speedy resolution to the shambles over WRONGFUL SENTENCES for TOBACCO SMUGGLING.
Following the 2008 case of R v CHAMBERS Customs agreed to review the cases affected, but this has not yet been concluded and Firman is pressing Customs for answers:
" All the lawyers got it wrong and the old law was wrongly applied. Those who were not liable to pay the duty on the cigarettes were ordered to do so and the financial consequences were often horrendous. These people ne3ed to appeal now."
