The first-ever video unboxing of the O2 edition of the Palm Pre is available to view now exclusively at Top 10 Mobile Phones.
Since launching in the US in June on the Verizon network, the Pre has raced to sales of over a million units, despite huge demand prompting early stock shortages. In so doing it has more than justifed its epiphet as the most viable challenger to Apple’s iPhone so far.
The handset is arriving in the UK this week on Friday October 16th on O2. However, ahead of its release, buyers can see just what to expect from the Pre in Top10’s exclusive video unboxing. This is the first time that consumers have been offered the chance to view the O2 version of the Pre in action.
Harry Jones, director at Top 10 Mobile Phones, said: “We’re delighted to be able to bring UK users the first-ever unboxing of the UK edition of the Pre.
“After losing market share to BlackBerry phones, the Palm Pre’s outstanding functionality and attention to detail has single-handedly brought Palm back from the technology hinterlands.”
Demand for the Pre was borne out by a recent study that found that 25 per cent of all mobile phone owners are considering buying one. This compares with 16 per cent who were intent on investing in the first edition of the iPhone in the week prior to its release in 2007.
Features of the Pre include a 3.1-inch touchscreen, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera, an email attachment viewer and wireless recharging. UK buyers will also benefit from a choice of 100 applications to download and a powerful operating system that enables these to be used simultaneously with minimum lag.
