The new legal mapping service by SGS is designed to identify for clients the mandatory requirements and applicable regulations they must comply with in order to transport, store, install, commission and operate wind turbines in a specific country. SGS supports its clients in building and operating wind farms in selected countries without breaching local legislations. Among the operational areas covered by the legal mapping services are road safety during transportation, special storage requirements for heavy equipment, working at heights, working under loads during installation, electrical safety compliance during commissioning of wind turbines and lift inspections during operation.
Risk Management Advisory Services
Another new service offered by SGS Wind Energy is risk management advisory for offshore wind farms. SGS Wind Energy Risk Management Services are designed to assist the client in mitigating specific project risks at every stage of offshore wind farm projects, from conception through to operation. This is a high value-adding service for clients at the conceptual phase as it provides the necessary support for the decision to move ahead with a project or not. The service applies proven risk management techniques to identify, quantify, assess, simulate, mitigate and manage the risks in a project. It covers all stages of a project cycle including design, supplier capability and delivery time, availability of specialized sea-going transport, commissioning, as well as operations and maintenance.
