(Hollywood, CA) - The Los Angeles Children's Choir will lend their voices to singer Jason Hemmens live recording session this week for his single, "Shine Your Light." Proceeds from the single's future sales will go to benefit the awareness of the children's eye cancer, retinoblastoma.

About Retinoblastoma International
(RBI) is a non-profit, organization founded in Los Angeles in the fall of 1998. Since its inception, RBI has been committed to supporting education, clinical care, research, early diagnosis, and awareness. In the year 2000, Retinoblastoma International helped pass California Assembly Bill 2185, which promotes early and regular eye examinations for infants to detect the presence of tumors and numerous other eye problems. As a result, thousands of children will be spared from blindness and death. RBI has produced several fundraising galas, as well as golf tournaments, theater productions, and other events in order to fund their mission…the worldwide elimination of blindness, secondary cancers, and death in children caused by retinoblastoma.
About The Los Angeles Children's Chorus
The mission of Los Angeles Children’s Chorus (LACC) is to educate, develop and inspire musically talented children to attain the highest level of choral artistry. Considered one of the nation’s leading children’s choirs, LACC has appeared in more than 300 performances with such renowned organizations as the LA Opera,
Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Master Chorale, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and many others.
Since its founding in 1986, LACC has educated more than 1,000 young singers and currently includes 250 choristers in five ensembles from communities across the greater Los Angeles area. Choristers rehearse once or twice weekly and take weekly musicianship classes.
Repertoire, selected to fit each choir’s skill level, covers a wide spectrum including established classical works, art songs, American jazz pieces and spirituals, and arrangements of folk songs from around the world. The live session will be directed by Tom Rizzo.
About Jason Hemmens
Hemmens releases his first single, "The Sun Don't Shine Anymore" next week from his forthcoming debut CD release, "Welcome To Reality". Hemmens, a Boston native, grew up listening to everything from eighties rap to classic rock, blues, jazz and country. He lived in Louisiana for several years performing at clubs on Bourbon Street and graduated from the University of New Orleans before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his dream in music.
Jason’s talents are well represented throughout his new CD as he has mastered the art of a true multi-instrumentalist, fluent on saxophone, harmonica, piano and bass as well as being an accomplished vocalist.
