For RAIS dealers and owners, the news that RAIS wood stoves easily qualified for the biomass-burning stove tax credit is no surprise. This well-known Scandinavian wood stove manufacturer has been a stand-out in energy-efficient performance and design innovation since its inception. The ORIGINAL RAIS wood stove was created by prominent Danish architect Bent Falk in 1970, as part of a Danish “green houses” project that required effective fireplaces.
RAIS, Inc. applauds the new 30% tax credit (up to $1,500) initiative that helps homeowners who purchase a 75%-efficient biomass-burning stove in 2009 and 2010. The company also praises its loyal owners, architects, dealers, and interior designers who have touted RAIS as a wise environmental choice, in addition to a home design asset, for many years.
“The folks who recommend and purchase RAIS stoves have always valued energy efficiency, intelligent function, and exceptional contemporary style”, explains National Sales & Marketing Director Jason Perry. “We are optimistic that the tax credit will motivate more people to purchase their favorite RAIS wood stove in the next year to enjoy the warmth of CO2 neutral renewable wood energy and the artful modern beauty of RAIS products.”
While all of RAIS’ stoves on the North American market are EPA certificated for clean-burning performance, RAIS has always strived to do better. Which is why all of their US wood stoves immediately qualify for the tax credit, including RAIS Topas, Opus, Mino II, Rondo, Rondo 120, Rondo 92, Gabo Wood, Pina, Malta, Bando and fireplace insert RAIS 60.
In addition, most RAIS stoves also bear the official Nordic Swan Eco-label, introduced by the Nordic Council of Ministers. To be Swan worthy, fireplaces must produce low levels of particle, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions, as wellas being highly efficient and made of environmentally suitable materials. The Nordic Swan Eco-label logo demonstrates that a product is a good environmental choice.
