GSA Contract Awarded to AirGator Inc. for EFBs. Best Selling NAVAir software suite and NAVPad EFBs now available through GSAAdvantage

NAVAir's Award Winning NAVPadX Family

NAVAir's Award Winning NAVPadX Family

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Oct 14, 2009 – AirGator, the leading provider of portable aviation electronics and EFBs, is proud to announce it has been awarded GSA contract GS-35F-0690V.   Accordingly, the NAVPad family of electronic flight bags (EFBs) and the NAVAir software suite are now available through GSAAdvantage.  “With this new contract in place, federal, state and local governments and other qualified organizations can now purchase AirGator products through the GSA’s reliable one-stop online resource” said Amir Tirosh, President of AirGator.   “We are delighted that our government users now have seamless access to our product line through this program “.

Initially the contract will include AirGator’s NAVPad 8X and 10X, new additions to the popular NAVPad family of EFBs with high performance processors, expanded memory, high capacity solid state storage and industrial quality daylight readable touch screens. Software offerings include NAVAir WX - the award winning moving map with real time satellite weather, and NAVAir Approaches 3D – the only approaches procedures viewer to show own ship position on the vertical profile, plan view and airport diagram.

NAVPad X EFBs are the latest additions to the popular NAVPad family of electronic flight bags (EFBs).   The NAVPad 8X and 10X utilize the newest high performance, low power consumption Intel ATOM processor at 1.6GHz - up to three times faster than the previous generation of NAVPads with significantly longer battery life and lower power consumption,  and are configured standard with 2GB RAM – double the memory available in previous versions.  And by utilizing industrial solid state drive (SSD) components rather than lower cost flash drives, these aviation-grade EFBs feature a 10 year disk life.  “Most off the shelf commercial EFBs with flash solid-state drives begin to degrade after 6 month to 1 year in real-life use,” said Amir Tirosh, President of AirGator.  “The new generation of NAVPads is engineered to support the most demanding flight regimes with solid, consistent, long term performance.”
NAVPad EFBs are decompression tested to 45,000 feet and are engineered for use in all cockpit environments with a rugged, light weight magnesium alloy case.  The ultra-thin ergonomic form factor allows for mounting on the yoke in many cockpits.  “Consumer-grade EFBs on the market today are based on off-the-shelf tablets with high-gloss display finishes,” said Tirosh. “While this makes images look nicer indoors, these high-glare reflective screens can be hard to see in bright cockpit environments. The NAVPad X EFB family uses high-brightness, fully dimmable low-gloss, low-glare LCD screens so that pilots can see the display clearly in direct sunlight and night conditions.”
NAVPad X EFBs run Windows compatible programs including work with both FAA and Jeppesen data and available software includes JeppView and FliteDeck as well as NAVAirEFB and Approaches3D and can be custom configured with additional cockpit productivity software including electronic logs, manuals, weight & balance and performance calculators, dispatch communications applications, email and more.
A base configuration of the NAVPad 8X starts at $3280.   The NAVPad 10X starts at $3660.
AirGator’s complete NAVPad X line of aviation grade Electronic Flight Bags will be on display at the National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA) Conference in Orlando, Florida October 20 – 21 and at the A/TA Air Mobility Convention in Nashville, TN 29 October – 1 November.
