American Thermoplastic Company received four awards in the 2009 Specialty Graphic Imaging Association's Golden Image/Andre Schallenberg competition in the Ring and Catalog Binders category. American Thermoplastic Company (ATC) swept the Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards in the Single/Multicolor Screen Printing category and won the prestigious Andre Schallenberg Award in the Digital Printing subgroup.
Steve Silberman, President of American Thermoplastic Company, commented that "Winning the top award for digital printing of binders was quite an accomplishment, and sweeping the screen printing awards is fantastic. It is rewarding to know that the efforts of our team have been recognized. I am proud of the work we do for our customers." ATC is one of the nation's leading manufacturers of custom-imprinted ring binders and related loose-leaf products. This year the company is celebrating the 55th anniversary of its founding in Pittsburgh, PA in 1954.
The SGIA Awards competition was conducted during the annual Specialty Graphic Imaging Association's Convention and Exposition '09, held this year in New Orleans, LA, October 7-9. More than 90 countries from around the world entered the competition, submitting over 450 entries in 43 categories. The entries were evaluated by a team of judges selected from the association's international membership. Johnny Shell, Vice President, Technical Services for the SGIA, noted "The Golden Image/Andre Schallenberg is a technical competition, excluding aesthetic issues from the judging process. Entries were judged on the level of difficulty and quality of execution." Shell further explained that "Winning these awards puts American Thermoplastic Company among the top specialty printers in the world in terms of quality and capability."
