Martinsburg, WV -- Webshows for People of Color in a very unlikely place. You heard it correctly. The company’s is called Rowdy Orbit which is an online platform and destination for professionally produced, original episodic storytelling for the African American, Hispanic, Latino, and Native American viewing audiences.
“Not seeing people of color on TV, on a consistent basis or in decent roles, was motivation to do something,” says Jonathan Moore, Founder and CEO. “So being another me too site, is way out of the question.”
Launched on September 21st, 2009, Rowdy Orbit will surely differentiate itself from other sites with the high level of webseries such as:
-Road to the Alter -- Wedding from a guyʼs perspective.
-Soul Delicious -- In the kitchen with a DJ, Chef with hip hop appeal.
-Exit Strategy -- Trying everything under the sun to end a relationship.
-Ylse -- Talk show host Ylse navigates life as a Latin woman in the male dominated entertainment news industry in this quirky comedy.
-Chick -- In the urban jungle of Los Angeles, there is thought to be a secret academy where regular people can train to become superheroes.
“Instead of just a partial view, Rowdy Orbit is all about painting the full picture by using diverse original webseries to display the full picture for people of color,” states Jonathan Moore. “In doing so, variety is the key. While driving and developing new categories, which provoke, is what we plan to do. So stay tuned.”
