In a recent article posted by InsuranceAgents.com, “Common Infant Illness: Do You Need Child Health Insurance,” they discuss how newborns immune systems are not developed and getting sick is much easier for them. Jaundice, “one of the earliest-occurring disorders, jaundice can occur immediately following birth or within a few days of birth,” according to the article, “Jaundice is caused by high bilirubin levels in the blood and skin. If your baby has jaundice, his/her skin and eyes will have a yellow cast. Some degree of jaundice will affect more than 50 percent of newborn babies, according to recent reports.” A good quality child health insurance policy would cover all the doctor visits and treatments your newborn would need to treat this illness.
No matter how prepared parents feel when they welcome their newborn, it’s not always easy to prevent newborns from getting sick. In order to have coverage for the proper care they will need to get better, child health insurance is a necessity.
