FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Oct 14, 2009 – Now SteppingStone Journals’ medical organizer will benefit cancer patients and caregivers in yet another way. Susan Thornberg, publisher of the cancer medical organizer My Personal Journey Through Cancer, announced plans today to donate 10% of the proceeds from the sale of her cancer medical organizer to St. Agnes’ House.

St. Agnes’ House is a nonprofit, ecumenical mission providing economical lodging for patients and their caregivers who travel to Lexington, Kentucky seeking treatment for serious illnesses at area hospitals and medical care facilities. Established in 1975, St. Agnes’ House was founded to “provide a warm, homey atmosphere” in which patients felt cared for without the feel of an institution. “Just as our cancer organizer assists cancer patients with the day-to-day management of their illness, St. Agnes House also helps cancer patients and caregivers by taking care of the basic need for lodging with a caring place to stay while seeking medical treatment,” noted Thornberg.

SteppingStone Journals cancer organizer helps cancer patients and their caregivers track the overwhelming amount of information related to their cancer diagnosis and treatment. Susan McDonald, Director of St. Agnes’ House, believes in the value of the SteppingStone Journals cancer organizer. “So many of those staying with us are far from home. Navigating both new surroundings and the medical system can be quite overwhelming.  Having medical information, history and updates all in one place is so helpful. This journal can easily go from the kitchen table at home to the guest room at St. Agnes’ House to the doctor’s office.”

Created with input from cancer survivors, medical providers, and devoted caretakers, SteppingStone Journals cancer organizer contains easy-to-use charts, forms and logs to record and monitor vital medical information from cancer diagnosis through treatment and recovery, including:

- Medical history
- List of medications and drug allergies
- Insurance information
- Medical appointments
- Lab results
- Questions for medical providers
- Treatments, tests and procedures
- Symptoms and possible related causes
- Medical and personal contact information
- Important reminders and to-do lists

SteppingStone Journals is currently offering a free copy of the SteppingStone Journals Reflections Diary for anyone placing an order. My Personal Journey Through Cancer is available through the SteppingStone Journals website at http://www.steppingstonejournals.com.

Stepping Stone Journals was founded by Susan Thornberg, a cancer survivor and caregiver. The company currently publishes, My Personal Journey Through Cancer, a cancer and medical organizer, and Stepping Stone Journals' Reflections Diary.

Thornberg created the prototype for My Personal Journey Through Cancer while caring for her mother who was diagnosed with lung cancer. While developing this cancer planner, Thornberg actively sought input from cancer providers, caregivers and patients. Understanding the need for this important medical resource, Janis DeVore of DeVore Marketing, partnered with SteppingStone Journals to publish My Personal Journey through Cancer.
