Congregation Or Yisrael was founded just 2 short years ago and has already established itself in the community as a Conservative congregation of the future. Their growing synagogue has a highly respected Rabbi, Jonina S. Pritzker, an active congregation of members who regularly attend and participate from Gert, our 102 year eldest member to our youngest children, who are quite literally, our future.
“Congregation Or Yisrael has a house for our synagogue, but the only thing we are lacking is a permanent home — a physical building to call our own” says Harvey Alford, president of Congregation Or Yisrael. “Our goal is to raise enough capital to purchase a building in the next five years,” Alford continues. Congregation Or Yisrael currently leases space at the Andover Newton Theological School in Newton.
Dr. Altman, is Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School. He is a nationally known author and lecturer on menopause and sexual dysfunction. Judi has been involved in the retail industry and the Jewish community over the past thirty-five years. They have recently relocated to Aspen, Colorado.
