Regulator sets the standard by enhancing safety and security with Q-Pulse

PRLog (Press Release) – Oct 14, 2009 – A compliance management solution is set to make significant contributions to aviation safety and quality in the Middle East, as part of a unique approach to safety and security oversight at the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates (GCAA).

Within the UAE, the GCAA regulates Civil Aviation and delivers designated aviation services with respect to safety and security to strengthen the aviation industry.

With the recent restructuring of the GCAA’s Aviation Security and Safety Department into two separate divisions, the GCAA sought a solution that would help contribute to the improvement of aviation safety and security throughout the region, and chose Q-Pulse from Scottish software developers Gael Ltd.

In a world first for aviation, GCAA will bridge the gap between regulator and regulated. By providing airlines, airports, MROs and other regulated organisations with direct, real-time access to the GCAA safety and security reporting system, incident and audit findings can be captured and tracked through to conclusion.

Q-Pulse will also serve to enhance communication between both safety and security divisions, enabling the Authority to provide an integrated environment offering safety and security and to meet their commitment to provide the highest standards in aviation safety and security.

GCAA Director General Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi explains: ‘As the first regulator in the world to adopt this approach, the GCAA has taken a truly proactive stance in maintaining and improving safety and security oversight.
