Oct 13, 2009 – Laurel, MD - Black Bag Productions, a full service event planning company based in Laurel, Maryland presents contemporary gospel artist Melahnē at an invitation-only CD listening party on Saturday, November 21 from 5:00-7:00pm. The party will be at the Capital Heights, MD salon of Diamond Designs Fashions, home of Holi Cain Couture, official stylist for the artist.
Black Bag President Kim Moss notes that Melahnē has been through an amazing journey to get to this point in her career. “Her perseverance and talent are amazing and being able to host a listening party for an exclusive audience in particular is an absolute pleasure for Black Bag Productions. She is not only a survivor, but a fighter and its time for everyone to hear her talent. We’ve invited media, radio personalities and 100 selected guests and friends to join in the celebration of the pending release and to hear five to six selections from the "Work In Progress" CD, scheduled for a January 2010 release, and we’re thrilled to be a part of Melahnē's team.”
Melahnē's unique gifts of writing and arranging manifested itself in 1994, leading to the formation of her own band, “Melahnē.”
She has been a featured performer on the D.C. Cable channel, “Jones Communications”, and has performed with internationally recognized Grammy® Award winning jazz artist George Duke on BET’s Live Jazz Channel. She was also blessed to have had in her circle of family, friends and talented artists, the late Renee Diggs, lead singer from the late 1980’s R&B group, Starpoint and the late Ernesto Phillips, male vocalist of the group.
A limited edition CD containing two selections from her debut contemporary gospel themed CD was given out at the 100 Black Men of Washington's Congressional Black Caucus reception in September at the prestigious City Club. Melahnē will perform two selections and autograph demo CD's. The debut CD, “Work in Progress” is slated for release in January 2010.
