PR Log (Press Release) –
Oct 13, 2009 – Being a teenager in Earth's turbulent future is tough. Or at least, that's the story behind Meg Koss's new graphic novel, "Messenger," which saw its first printing and release to the public this week in "Messenger Chapter One: Wake Up".
"Messenger" is the story of Akiara Kenakobe, a teenager growing up on the wasteland in a strange futuristic vision of Earth. She faces the usual dilemmas every teenager has to deal with; life, love, and identity, but with an added twist - survival. Chapter One sets the stage for the adventures to follow, featuring sword battles, close escapes, and genetically engineered creatures called "Chios." The new book features two additional comics exclusive to the print edition, as well as other stories from the "Messenger" world and "behind the scenes" production information.
"Messenger" began as a webcomic - a comic published weekly for free viewing on the internet. It is written and illustrated by Meg Koss, a local graphic designer originally from the village of Akron. Although "Messenger" is Koss's first foray into comics, some of her other writings, illustrated work, and zines are held in library and university collections across the country.

"Messenger Chapter One: Wake Up" is available now from messenger-comic.com or lulu.com.
