Animal Care & Control of New York City (ACC) is celebrating their second annual fundraising gala, which will be co-hosted by the popular cable network Animal Planet. The event is to be held at Pacha on Thursday, October 22, 2009, and all funds raised will benefit the city’s broad-reaching rescue, shelter and adoption services. Since 1995, Animal Care has, on average, assisted in the rescue of 43,000 animals annually as the largest agency of its kind in the North East, servicing all five boroughs of New York City.
This year’s event will feature numerous special guests and fun activities, including a live pet runway of successfully adopted animals from city shelters. Opening remarks will be made by popular Today Show special correspondent, author and pet lover Jill Rappaport. The cast from Animal Planet’s series “Underdog to Wonderdog” will also be on hand for the festivities as well as radio personality Maria Milito from New York’s Q1043. Tickets start at $75.

Naughty Auction is an annual gala established by a group of straight and gay friends from various countries and professions, all residing in New York City. The National AIDS Fund (NAF) triples the amount raised each year at this dynamic gathering of the city’s philanthropists.
AIDS Fund Director of External Affairs, Victor Barnes will be present at the October 27th event to discuss the ongoing importance of contributing to AIDS research and support of the wider community living with HIV. Faithfully supporting over 400 grassroots HIV/AIDS organizations, this fund ensures that when an individual donates, $0.89 of every dollar goes directly to communities most impacted by HIV/AIDS.
Those communities then use the fund’s Challenge Grants program to provide a 200% return on every donation invested. Evening entertainment at the famed Orensanz LES foundation space, includes a naughty but nice burlesque by reigning queen Angie Pontani, music performances by Sibling Rivalry, catering by stylish Italian chef outfit Montenore, all night cocktails courtesy Bulldog Gin and Dogfish Head handcrafted ales. Giftbags by Swarovski Crystalized. Among auction items is an original Herb Ritts photograph of Madonna – with Guy Smith to lead the bidding war. Tickets start at $55.
