SolarUK adds the energy-efficient finishing touches to new Kent housing development

SolarUK, the leading solar thermal research, design and manufacturing company, stepped in to retrofit the solar hot water system for an exclusive development near Ashford, enabling the new houses to gain energy performance certificates.

Sevenoaks-based Regalpoint’s development of four five-bedroom homes at Bell Field in the historic village of Mersham already benefited from timber double-glazed windows throughout, under floor heating, fireplaces with woodburning stoves and low voltage downlighters.

Three of the homes are available and ready for their new owners.

SolarUK, which provides solar hot water systems for both commercial and domestic use, was asked to install solar collectors and new twin coil cylinders.  Established for over ten years, it is the company behind the award-winning, UK-designed and built LaZer2 solar thermal ‘collectors’ (the plates which absorb the sun’s heat), which were found by a leading European research institute to provide better performance than any of the products of its main rivals.
