NPSA Honors Former Association President Dale Payne

PR Log (Press Release) – Oct 13, 2009 – KANSAS CITY, MO.  – John Finnessy, CMP, Executive Director the National Portable Storage Association (NPSA), a nonprofit membership association dedicated to the advancement of the portable storage industry, issued the following statement today honoring Dale Payne, past-president of the organization, who passed away on September 28, 2009 from heart complications.

"On behalf of the portable storage industry, I extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to Dale's family, friends and colleagues. He was a remarkable man, a loving husband and father, and a dear friend. The portable storage industry has greatly benefited from his countless contributions. He will be missed by many."

Dedicated to his company and the industry as a whole, Dale worked tirelessly to learn more and promote the use of portable storage and developed some of the first wind studies related to the use of stacked containers in hurricane conditions. Dale's efforts were recognized by his colleagues. He was the Chairman of the Board for both a statewide Florida trade association, the Florida Association of Mobile Self-Storage Units (FAMMSU) and an international trade association, the NPSA.

Dale was born September 18, 1964 and raised in Louisville, Ky. He graduated from Fern Creek High School in 1982, and moved to Florida to continue his education, receiving his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Marine Biology from the University of Tampa and his Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering from USF. Dale was an avid diver, and after college traveled the world, settling for a time in the Cayman Islands as a NAUI dive master. In his career Dale achieved no small measure of success.  

Dale is survived by his loving wife Angie, his 11-year-old son Jordan 11, his six-year-old daughter Macakyla, his parents Frankye and Harold Payne, his sister Sherry and a large extended family.
