Shoothill’s TimeMap application has been nominated for another award, this time by Advantage West Midlands ICT Cluster Group. These technology awards are designed to recognise the talents and achievements of the growing regional ICT (Information Communication Technology) sector. They will be announced and presented during an evening reception following the annual West Midlands ICT Cluster Conference on Tuesday 10th November 2009, at the National Motorcycle Museum in Bickenhill, Solihull. This year’s inspirational theme for the awards and conference is ‘Competing in the New World – Innovate your way to success’.
The system has been developed and integrated by Shrewsbury-based Shoothill (the UK’s premier developers on the Virtual Earth platform), and is envisaged to revolutionise the way in which land analysis is performed by property developers, geological engineers and planners.
TimeMap is a unique innovation applying software to allow for simultaneous comparative analysis of differing maps, (or photos, schematics or layers of geocoded information)
As this unique way of presenting, handling and interacting with data lends itself naturally to those without exceptional analytical skills, it could empower many disadvantaged sections of the community to keep informed of the underlying justifications for policy decisions, extending the reach of communications for organisations requiring a medium to convey complex data through an appealing and engaging interface.
