Fanaroff amongst South Africa’s top IT entrepreneurs

PR Log (Press Release) – Oct 13, 2009 – Lance Fanaroff, co-founder and joint CEO at the Integr8 Group, has secured his position amongst several top local IT entrepreneurs competing for the annual IT Personality and Visionary CIO 2009 Award presented by industry via The Computer Society of South Africa (CSSA), Gartner Africa, The Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) and ITWeb.

The IT Personality of the Year Award is bestowed upon individuals that not only make a meaningful contribution towards the growth and development of this sector, but in so doing, significantly raise their personal profiles as executive managers through proven business acumen and achievement.

Having reached the second round of the contest, Fanaroff joins ten other candidates short-listed to possibly continue to the next round.

Among the contenders is the Executive Chairman at Dimension Data South Africa, the CEO at Smartxchange, the CEO at KrazyBoyz Digital, the CEO at Mxit, the CEO at Softline, the CEO at GijimaAst Group, the Managing Director at Microsoft South Africa, the Project Manager at Khanya Project and the CEO at iBurst.

In the following stage of the competition five finalists will face a panel of judges - recognised within industry for their influence and position within the ICT and telecommunications sectors - as part of the quest to name South Africa’s top IT entrepreneur.

A number of recent achievements and subsequent recognition by industry has presented management at the Integr8 IT Group with an ideal platform from which to entrench the company’s leadership position at the forefront of the managed ICT services space.

Integr8 IT, an associate company within the Group and South Africa’s largest privately owned national BEE ICT network integration and infrastructure management specialist, won the ‘Innovation through Technology’ and ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ Awards at the annual Topco National Business Awards.

Fanaroff was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the same award ceremony.
