The video game marathon, which will broadcast live via Ustream on www.clanofthegraywolf.com starting at 9 A.M. on Friday, November 27, will feature six people playing through 1,000 consecutive songs from the "Rock Band" series of video games, which include hundreds of popular music tracks. With three people playing the game at all times (on guitar, drums, and vocals) and a fourth running a live online chat, the participants estimate that it will take more than three days to complete our goal.
"After seeing the success of other game marathons online, we felt we could do something similar to help out,” said Joey DeSena, event co-coordinator. "And we think that doing something like this would entertain people enough to donate. We can accomplish much more for the charity together in this way than any of us could do alone."
Event co-coordinator Daniel Cordaro added, "With the way video games are negatively portrayed by popular media, we hope that the marathon will also emphasize the positive contributions gamers make to the community."
