Omni Financial Solutions (OFS) launches today an innovative offering
in the Debit Card market designed with enhanced security features eliminating the opportunity for card fraud.
The financial impact of credit card fraud is staggering with projected
losses estimated to reach in excess of $10 billion, in the United
States alone through 2009, according to the Federal Trade Commission. The losses continue to rise despite card issuers continued efforts to leverage technology to stem such fraudulent activities as “skimming”
reads the magnetic strip as the user unknowingly access their account.
Mobile Toggle Card™ or MTC offers account holders a solution to card
theft and account abuse with a VISA® Debit Card supported by Veritec’s
unique patented technology which toggles the card off and on from the
customer’s mobile phone.
“Our product allows cardholders to place a virtual padlock and alarm
system on their debit card accounts, which makes the cards and
accounts useless to a thief without the key that is entered via your
registered cell phone” says Eric Robinson, President of OFS.
Real-time information via TXT and e-mail allows the consumer to turn
off their card account immediately should the card be lost, stolen, or
compromised. In regular use, the versatile “toggle” feature allows
consumers to control the number of approved transactions before being
disabled, creating an unprecedented level of Security.
Along with offering consumers high-end security, the Mobile Toggle
Card™ is up to 50% less than the dominant pre-paid debit card offerings in
the marketplace today. The $5.95 application fee and $3.95 monthly
charge includes unlimited PIN, Point-of-Sale and internet transactions.
The Veritec™ powered VISA® Debit Card has been in test markets for
more than four years through select programs, but October 6, 2009 marks the card’s mainstream debut. OFS feels that American consumers will
significantly benefit from the card’s unique security features during
these uncertain economic times when the consequences of falling victim
to fraud, can be most devastating.
