The licenses for these are fiercely protected. Nintendo doesn’t want the same thing to happen to them that happened to the music industry back in Napster’s glory days. You can still download P2P music, video and games for free, but it’s a whole new ball game these days.

There’s a ray of light in this bleak scenario. You CAN download Nintendo roms for free and with the company’s blessings. They WANT you to download the old games that they have released to the public domain. Those old games are a great way to introduce a new generation to the newer versions. It’s a win-win situation. You get a free game and Nintendo gets a new customer when you decide you can’t live without the new version.

Do yourself a favor and download some free nds roms. If you have an inexpensive piece of hardware, you can play them on your NDS, or you can download an emulator and play them on your computer.
