Oct. 13, 2009 - PRLog -- Local radio has always been an important channel for and often the focus of conversation in Carlsbad. Now, the internet adds a new facet of that involvement. Carlsbad Radio owner and general manager Don Hughes says, “We really wanted a way to keep one to one personal conversations going even in times when we all have many jobs to do during the day. The blog helps us do that.”

“Twenty years ago, the radio station had a staff of twenty or more and clients and community members were constantly coming and going. Today’s world is different and we are aware that there is a challenge to keep the important kinds of conversations going that used to happen face to face in the course of a slower paced work day,” according to Hughes.

“Social networking via the internet for us is an additional tool to exercise our deep involvement in every aspect of our community. We have addressed the stresses of job insecurity, the plague of graffiti that has to be fought constantly, political differences and the hard feelings they can cause and of course, sports, school and the flu. We have had some great guest posts by people from inside the community and out and I am really looking forward to seeing the rapport develop with our friends and listeners,” he said.
