PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 12, 2009 -
The International Honors Program (IHP) has launched a redesigned website (www.ihp.edu) with new functionality to help students review curricula that examines major social justice and sustainability issues from a uniquely global perspective. The site also enables alumni, students and faculty advisors to stay connected. Additionally, parents finally have a way to hear from the field through videos, letters and bulletins with local health and political updates.

IHP selected ReadyPortal, a leading Web content management solution (CMS) platform for businesses, trade associations, and nonprofits, to regain control of its website maintenance, including editorial and feature application. The site was redesigned to serve as the organization’s most visual and important brand ambassador.

“Students live on the Web, so we wanted a website that speaks to their interests in a     relevant way,” explained Judy Babbitts, Executive Director of IHP. “

“Our previous static site seemed outdated to students. We went with ReadyPortal because the platform allows us to do a lot more without external technical intervention. ReadyPortal offers flexibility, continuity and options. We have selected features that meet our immediate needs from an intuitive CMS platform that our staff can easily manage.”

New site features include rotating maps to provide a birds-eye view of upcoming program itineraries, application downloads, program updates, and alumni news. IHP community can expect more interactive features in the near future including blog postings, an alumni portal and online program application.

“For 50 years, IHP has offered programs that have had significant impact on our students. Our site will allow us to reach and inform a new generation of students about their role in a global community,” said Babbitts.

IHP students and faculty have had the opportunity to meet with extraordinary people over the course of many years, including Eleanor Roosevelt, Malcolm X, Nehru, Al Gore and Barack Obama. From government and sciences to art and film, the IHP community comprises many well-known faculty, guest lecturers and alumni, currently and historically. For a list of noted contributors, visit www.ihp.edu.

IHP joins a growing list of educational organizations including The German Academic Exchange Service, Institute of International Educators and The Fulbright Academy of Science & Technology that have selected ReadyPortal as their CMS platform of choice.

“Congratulations to IHP for building a site that combines traditional design components with exciting new functionality for universal appeal,” said Rajiv Chatterjee, CEO of ReadyPortal.
