Gaymar Industries, the leading global provider of medical solutions for pressure ulcer and temperature management, today announced the availability of the new and improved Sof•Care® Mattress Series.
Now featuring enhancements providing improved performance and durability, the Sof•Care® Mattress Series features proven Sof•Care three-layer air-channeling technology to provide uncompromising, consistent pressure management. This technology consists of over 300 interconnected air cells exchanging air to redistribute a patient’s weight over the entire surface providing low tissue interface pressures to help prevent and treat all stages of pressure ulcers.
The Sof•Care Mattress immerses and envelops the patient in a multi-zoned air cell to prevent new pressure ulcers from forming and allow existing ulcers to heal. Available with or without low air loss, the Sof•Care Mattress is supported by a two-layered foam base and firm perimeter foam sides for ingress/egress stability.
Powered by a robust internal pump with pre-programmed settings, Sof•Care Mattresses maintain optimum pressure in the air cell to manage pressure and reduce caregiver intervention. When unplugged, the Sof•Care Mattress will stay inflated for a minimum of two hours, ensuring needed therapy during patient transport.
By offering both low tissue interface pressure and optional low air loss in a single support surface, the Sof•Care Mattress Series provides hospitals with the ideal, economical house-wide solution for effectively treating patients with pressure ulcers and protecting others from skin breakdown. In fact, administrators for a 300-bed hospital in Massachusetts recently elected to use the Sof•Care Mattress Series exclusively throughout their facility.
With models designed to fit flat bed frames as well as recessed bed frames, Sof•Care Mattresses are offered with a Nylon, Deluxe four-way stretch, or Silver3® cover embedded with silver ions.
