FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 10, 2009 -
Award-winning writer and producer Frank Spotnitz is giving fans a rare opportunity to sit down and talk screenwriting and all things “X-Files” while raising money for a number of worthy charities.  Fans have the chance to win a “Meet and Greet” with the writer just prior to the “Celebration of The X-Files” charity event being hosted by IBG Inc. on Saturday, 14 November 2009 at the Beverly Wilshire hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
Bidding is now live for a limited number of “Meet and Greets” through eBay (bidding link: http://www.ibginc.org/tickets). Winners not only have the opportunity to meet with the writer, but also receive two [2] VIP tickets to the Q&A panel which also features noted actress Gillian Anderson.  Proceeds from the event are donated to the participants’ chosen charities.

Spotnitz’s participation in the event is in support of The Santa Monica-UCLA Rape Treatment Center (RTC). Over the last year, RTC has campaigned to eliminate the backlog of untested rape kits and for faster analysis of DNA evidence.  Information regarding RTC’s work will be available at the event.

Frank Spotnitz wrote or co-wrote more than 40 installments of "The X-Files," including the Emmy-nominated "Memento Mori". Other awards accorded Spotnitz for his work on "The X-Files" include three Golden Globe wins for Best Dramatic Series, a Peabody Award, and three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Drama Series.  In addition to “The X-Files” series and films, Spotnitz’s credits include "Millennium", "Harsh Realm", "The Lone Gunmen" "Robbery Homicide Division" and the re-imagining of "Night Stalker" for ABC Television.   Currently, Spotnitz is developing new projects for HBO and FX.

Founded in late 2008, host organization IBG established an official non-profit campaign focusing on utilizing the power of philanthropy through the arts to benefit a wide range of charities worldwide. IBG acts as a “fundraiser facilitator” for underfunded and start-up charities that would otherwise struggle with the logistics and costs associated with event fundraising.
