Oct. 9, 2009 - PRLog -- Los Gatos, CA - Los Gatos High School Performing Arts presents the Fall Play 2009, a premiere production of “K2” / “Lifeline.” Two plays to be performed concurrently in this unique show.

"K2", by Patrick Meyers, was first produced on Broadway in 1983 (featuring the Tony Award-winning set of Ming Cho Lee).  Two climbers are stranded on K2, the second-highest mountain in the world (28,251 feet).  One of the climbers is injured in a fall; with little remaining equipment, and faced with enormous odds, their fight for survival becomes a physical and spiritual crucible.

"Lifeline," by Steve “Spike” Wong, is a companion play to “K2.”  It is receiving its premiere performance in this production.  As their men fight to survive K2, two women deal with uncertainty and doubt.  The unraveling of their relationship reveals their own hidden struggles.

“K2” / “Lifeline” features the first artificial ice climbing wall ever constructed inside a high school theater, original music by James Francisco, and a premiere performance of a new play.

Performances are Oct. 29, Oct. 30, Nov. 5, Nov. 7, and Nov. 8.  All shows begin at
7 p.m. in the Prentiss Brown Theatre at Los Gatos High School.
