ROCKWALL — Landscape Source Nursery announces the arrival of its giant pumpkin to launch its 6th Annual Pumpkin Patch Festival in Rockwall.
Among the fun and exciting attractions are “the biggest maze in all of Rockwall, the Three Little Pigs Hay House, a giant Spider, and a spooky ‘Tomb's Town’ setting for unique photo opportunities,”
More than just another colorful pumpkin patch, this year’s event will also feature an area for children to sit and enjoy coloring books, a story time area, a family picnic area, and a children's movie theater which will play none other than “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown". According to Ruddell, “we have a contest going where visitors are asked to guess the weight of the ‘Great Pumpkin’. The winner will receive a valuable gift certificate to Landscape Source Nursery.
The Pumpkin Patch is open to the general public, and admission is free. Schools, daycare centers, and private groups with 20 or more children require a $2.00 pumpkin purchase, per child. The Nursery is also providing a ‘Pumpkin Patch on Wheels’ program, which delivers pumpkins to select daycare centers and schools in the area with 20 or more children, in exchange for a $2.00 pumpkin purchase, per child,” explained Ruddell.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the Pumpkin Patch now until October 31, 2009, Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 am until 7:00 pm, and on Sunday's from 10:30 am until 7:00 pm.
Daycare centers, schools, families, or organizations with groups of 20 or more children should contact the Nursery in advance to arrange their visit. Parents, whose children are celebrating a birthday during the month of October, may also arrange to have their child’s birthday party at the Pumpkin Patch.
