The Trust will do this by supporting and collaborating with the many existing businesses, groups and organisations as well as Aberdeenshire Council and through the involvement of the local community by encouraging open 2 way dialogue.
Developing this capacity is an important feature of BMCT who actively encourage people to join and suggest projects.
BMCT’s Operations and Development Manager Fiona Poustie said: “We are absolutely delighted to have reached this milestone. To have over 100 members join since our launch proves that there is a sincere feeling that communities can be improved, and through the active involvement of their residents.”
Full membership is open to anyone who lives or works in Banff, Macduff and District and Associate Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the area for a fee of £1. As BMCT believe that young people should also have a say Junior Membership is free to anyone under the age of 16 years. At the first AGM all the present Directors will resign giving the membership the opportunity to select their own team and full members can stand for election as a director.
Mrs Poustie continued: “The more people who join and participate the more we can achieve for the Towns in the way the community want. Every third meeting is open to the public and the next public meeting takes place on 26th October at 7pm in the Bridge Street Community Centre. Everyone is most welcome to attend.”
