PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 09, 2009 -
Recently, there has been a lot of talk about a skills shortage in relation to several massive projects announced for Western Australia, including the Gorgon gas development, expansion of the Pluto LNG plant and the development of the Mid-West iron ore region including the massive Gindalbie iron ore mine which will need upwards of 1500 workers during the construction stage.

The Construction Skills Training Centre (CSTC) in Perth is one of WA's quiet achievers, successfully going about its business helping to underpin Western Australia’s current and future development. It was set up in the mid 90’s to cater for all workers and companies within the WA mining, construction and industrial landscape.

The CSTC qualifies over 5000 workers each year in various skills categories.

Set on 10,000 sq.meters in Welshpool WA, the CSTC is the only training centre in Australia with a giant tower crane on-site. The centre also boasts 10 training classrooms, professional trainers with real-world experience and state of the art equipment.

As Western Australia enters a new phase of development, the CSTC is a local good news story helping to provide people with job-ready skills and companies with the skills needed to drive their future growth in an expanding WA economy.
