There were many surprises in the latest scores cricket in Bangalore today with JP Duminy of the Cape Cobras just missing out of scoring a century.
The first of the Champions League T20 match was played at the Chinnaswammy stadium, Bangalore to a capacity crowd of ardent cricket fans. T20 cricket returned to India after the last IPL2 was played in South Africa due to the elections in India
After a great opening ceremony, Anil Kumble, The skipper of the Challengers elected to bat first after winning the toss. Ross Taylor and Robin Uttappa entertained the crowd to a sterling batting performance. The Royal Challengers Bangalore chalked up a total of 180 runs for the loss of four wickets. Charl Langeveldt was the pick of the Cobras bowlers with 1 wicket for twelve runs.
The Cobras lost three quick wickets and the pendulum shifted in the favour of the Challengers, however JP Duminy had other ideas with a brilliant knock of 99 runs which included five sixes and eight fours taking the game away from the Challengers. Ryan Canning's knock of twenty runs helped the Cobras in their first win.
